Divine Dinners

Once upon a time dinner was family time. Mom worked to make a nice meal. Dinner was served at the

dinner table, not the kitchen table. The kitchen table was breakfast and lunch. Dinner table was for the dinner meal. You were expected to be clean, out of your play clothes and prepared to sit and listen to the grown ups discuss life or ask you questions or maybe hear a bit of neighborhood gossip!

Moms meals (and in my case, Dads too) were designed to be healthy and substantial but once again, we didn't over eat like people do today. Mama's 12" plates were in the China cabinet to be brought out only for the holidays. Otherwise we used the blue rimmed, heavy glass plates for dinner. They weren't fancy but at least the weren't the melamine plates- those hard "plastic" plates that are now quite collectible! In fact, they're making a come-back in production.

This section includes dinners I've developed or updated for healthier faire, or have collected over the years.
