Beef and Red Meat Dishes

I believe that beef gets a bad rap. In fact, I believe all red meat gets a bad rap. Sure, if you eat fatty cuts, you're going to increase your risk of certain health problems. However, you have to eat a lot of it for this to happen! You can get lean red meat cuts. You can make fattier cuts lean by trimming the fat. And, if you cut down on the amount you consume, red meat, the most popular being beef in the USA, you can enjoy it occasionally.

Back in the day, people didn't eat quarter-pound burgers. They ate a 3 oz hamburger- full fat- cooked on a grill or over an open flame. Nobody ate a 12 oz steak. Steaks were 6 oz, and grilled or pan-fried. And they were reserved for things like the 4th of July or neighborhood cookouts.

I want to include a note here, though- any of the ground beef recipes can be substituted with ground turkey. But the flavor won't be the same, to be sure. Still, it can be done. But why not just get a leaner beef or grind your own?
