This recipe requires an oval-shaped crockpot, unless you have a very large round one. If you eat a lot of chicken or other small game hens, it might be worth the investment to get one for this kind of thing.
- 1 4lb chicken
- 2 tsp salt-free seasoning of choice
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Clean out and pat dry the chicken
- Combine all seasonings and sprinkle half inside and half outside
- Place in a lightly greased crock pot with the neck up
- Cover and cook for 8 hours on low
- Remove and discard the skin before cutting up or removing meat
- You will get a nice amount of natural broth, strain it and use it!
