Dough Boys

These are something used in various stews to make them more filling. They have enough heft to them to keep you happy for hours and were a staple food in the 1940s.

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp sugar (optional)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp margarine (softened)

  1. Mix all the dry goods
  2. Cut in the margarine.
  3. Add milk and stir to form a soft ball.
  4. Add by teaspoons into the boiling broth and cover.
  5. Turn to simmer.

DO NOT LIFT THE COVER FOR 15 MINUTES!
