These are something used in various stews to make them more filling. They have enough heft to them to keep you happy for hours and were a staple food in the 1940s.
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp sugar (optional)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp margarine (softened)
- Mix all the dry goods
- Cut in the margarine.
- Add milk and stir to form a soft ball.
- Add by teaspoons into the boiling broth and cover.
- Turn to simmer.
DO NOT LIFT THE COVER FOR 15 MINUTES!
