- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsp butter
- 1 bar melted Germans chocolate
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Sift together the flour, soda and salt, set aside.
- Melt the chocolate on low and add the butter
- Cream the shortening with the sugar
- Add the butter and melted chocolate to the shortening/sugar
- Add in the eggs followed by the buttermilk
- Add in the dry.
- Bake at 300 for 1.5 hours.
