Maple Fudge

When the holidays hit my mind wanders to all things maple. I guess because it's that time of year when our Aunt Fran would slip into Canada, buy maple candy, and send it to us. Anyway, here is a recipe for easy maple fudge. I have no idea where it came from lol.

  • 3 cups light brown sugar
  • 1 cup cold butter
  • 1/2 tsp maple-flavored extract
  • 1/2-1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 6 oz evaporated milk
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

  1. Over medium heat bring the butter, brown sugar, and evaporated milk to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for seven minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from the heat and add the extract and give it a quick, swift stir.
  4. Add the sugar 1 cup at a time, and beat with an electric mixer for 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in the nuts by hand.
  6. Pour into a lightly buttered 8x8 or 9x9 baking pan and cool.
