Grandmother’s 4-Ingredient Cream Cheese Spread
1 1/2 cups of spread (about 12 servings)
- 8 slices dried beef
- 1/4 cup pitted green olives, such as Manzanilla
- 1 (8-ounce) block cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Chop the dried beef very finely [you can use a mini-chopper]
- Chop the olives finely as well [you can use a mini-chopper]
- Add the meat and olives to a serving bowl
- Mix in the softened cream cheese and garlic powder until well combined
- Cover and refrigerate up to 1 week.
- To make spreadable, remove from fridge for 1/2 hour ahead of time.
Spread on anything from cucumber or zucchini coins to bread or crackers.
Olive Cheese Spread
- 5 oz jar green olives with liquid
- 8 oz softened cream cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1/2 pint sour cream
- Half-and-half cream as needed
- Soften the cheese and blend with enough half and half to make it spreadable.
- Chop the olives, then blend the cheese with the nuts, salt to taste, and the sour cream.
- If too stiff, add in some of the olive brine or more half and half
