- 1/2 cup water at 110 degrees
- 2 packets instant yeast
- 1 tbsp sugar
Stir until dissolved, set aside
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk warmed to 110 degrees
- 6 tbsp melted, cooled butter
- 1 1/2 tbsp honey
Mix together
- Add 2 large egg yolks (only yolks!)
Mix in
- 3 cups All Purpose Flour or bread flour
- 1 tbsp kosher salt
- add a little at a time to the liquid and add more flour (whole wheat is good too) until it forms into a nice dough.
- Knead 10 mins until smooth likea babies butt
- let rise covered in a greased bowl until doubled
- Remove, cut in half and form into loaves
- Place in lightly greased bread pans and bake at 350 until lightly golden brown and thumps hollow (around 20-30 minutes)
- Butter the top immediately after baking
