- 1/2 c butter, softened
- 1 1/2 c sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 c buttermilk
- 2 squares baking chocolate, melted
- 2 c flour (can use cake flour) sifted
- Cream butter and sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.
- Dissolve soda in milk
- Add flour alternately with the milk and chocolate to butter mixture
- Mix well after each addition
- bake in layers at 350 for about 1/2 hour
