- 1 quart of white or red beans
- 1 lb salt pork
- 3 tbsp molasses
- Soak beans overnight in cold water.
- In the morning, change the water and boil until the skins begin to crack.
- Remove from the fire and drain
- Put into a deep dish with 1 lb of salt pork, pepper, and 3 tbsp molasses
- Put in enough water to cover the beans
- Cover tightly and bake in the oven at around 300-325 degrees
- Bake no less than four hours.
