I can remember the bowl of Chex Mix coming out at parties and church dances. Someone always brought it, and until the crockpot came out, it was made on the stove in a large pot. It's not something that I make regularly, but I do like it at times. And it's nice on a cold winter night.
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp seasoning salt (you can omit)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- Dissolve the above together and pour over a mixture of Chex cereal, pretzels, broken tortilla chips, nuts, or whatever you prefer, up to 6 cups.
- Toss in the crockpot and cook on low for 2 1/2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes until warm and toasty.
- Leave in the pot on warm until ready to serve.
PRO-TIP: Do you like Cheerios, but not when they get soggy? Try taking your bowl of Cheerios, heating up some butter in a pan, and tossing the Cheerios to coat. You could add seasonings, too, and eat warm!
