Boston Baked Beans

  • 1 quart of white or red beans
  • 1 lb salt pork
  • 3 tbsp molasses
  • Soak beans overnight in cold water.
  • In the morning, change the water and boil until the skins begin to crack.
  • Remove from the fire and drain
  • Put into a deep dish with 1 lb of salt pork, pepper, and 3 tbsp molasses
  • Put in enough water to cover the beans
  • Cover tightly and bake in the oven at around 300-325 degrees
  • Bake no less than four hours.
